The
S-1 is the best-selling model of all their steel string
guitars, providing the solid basis for our program. A&M
take special pride in the fact that it is their lowest priced
model which was awarded the "Deutsche Musikinstrumentenpreis"
in 1996. Back and sides are made of maple, while the top
is - depending on the player´s choice - sitka or European
spruce. A neck made of switenia and an ebony fingerboard
offer good material value for a moderately priced guitar.
How does the guitar sound? - With its soft, yet powerful
basses, you will be surprised about the quick tonal response
and enjoy the beautiful range of overtones and a good sustain.

The only difference between
S-1 and S-2 is the choice of materials for back and sides:
Indian rosewood provides for a distinct midrange without letting
the instrument sound "nasal". This guitar suits
players that prefer a harder and powerful pluck, demanding
