New Somogyi 000-12 - Custom 000 12C Fan Fret Acoustic Guitar

NOT FOR SALE. This amazing instrument was custom made for Dream Guitars owner Paul Heumiller. Three years in the making, this is truly Paul's Dream Guitar. Paul and Ervin designed this guitar to fit Paul's playing style which includes many alternate tunings ranging from Low C tunings to Standard and many genres from Blues to Slow Airs. To accomplish this there are many custom features on this guitar. First it's a 000 body with a 12 fret neck as Paul wanted all the sweet tone and energy you get from the 12 fret bridge placement. They added a cutaway to give back access to the higher frets. A fan fret was employed with a 26" bass scale, to handle tuning down to D or C, and 25" treble scale, for easy tension up high and a fat sound. The asymmetrical neck shape was borrowed from Alan Beardsell and has a bit more mass on the treble side than on the bass so it's fits the hand well, and creates a pseudo soft V. The woods used were a very fine, old set of Brazilian Rosewood that tapped like slate and Paul's preferred Bearclaw Sitka Spruce full of silking. Great Sitka has the combination of warmth, power and overtones Paul likes for his music. The guitar was completed with a set of handmade Rodgers tuners from England and last but not least a hand carved rosette in a Celtic motif. Nobody carves like Ervin does....
