John Greven's FX design is an expanded 000 shape, imagine a 000 but a bit wider in the upper and lower bouts. The concept provides for a big, oversized 000 voice that has the focus and power but added bass and overall volume. The bass notes on this gorgeous Lacewood guitar are nearing the Dreadnought territory, big and bold. The overall energy is great, alive and vibrant, as Grevens tend to be. This one can be fingerpicked or flatpicked, it's quite versatile.

Player Reviews:

"John Greven describes Lacewood as having the ability to sound 100 years old on a new guitar. I can attest to that, it has a very loose, open sound too, like a well-aged vintage guitar. This FX is a beast, big, strong voice that excels at Blues, Rags and the like but really can play just about anything. If you love a 000 but long for a bit more bottom end, this is for you." - Paul Heumiller

"This is definitely in my top ten as far as the sound and projection are concerned. The body is pretty big, but it doesn't feel oversized when you play it. It's also set up really well so that every note rings true and clear. This is one truly inspirational instrument." - Al Petteway
