Charlie Hoffman has the experience of building 576 guitars to date. This one is #576, a gorgeous Hoffman SJ guitar in Cocobolo Rosewood and bearclaw Sitka Spruce. The knowledge and intuit that comes from years honing his craft is evident in his instruments. For instance, just look at the materials, he clearly knows how to select premium woods, Cocobolo with stunning grain and color, Flamed Koa for the bindings with deep figure and dark. His also developed wonderful details like the Koa Armrest Bevel here. But his voicing is what we love, there is a purity of note, a wonderful percision that allows the music to be heard as it's intended. The sound is natural and uncluttered, just emotion from steel and wood.
