This is a custom Ribbecke Halfling with a Cedar top over thin 2 1/2" hollow Big Leaf Maple body. The idea of the Halfling is that the treble half of the top is arched and the bass half is flat. This combines the open, full bass of a flat top with punch of an Archtop. This one-off Halfling features a Fan Fret fingerboard with a scale of 26.5" on the bass and 25" on the treble side. This makes it possible to play in a variety of tunings as well as standard and improves the intonation and feel greatly. You can powerful bass and sweet trebles. The best of all worlds, flat top/archtop/short scale/long scale!

2010 Ribbecke Halfling - Electric Guitar Player Reviews

Player Reviews:

"This thin body Halfling Ribbecke is a joy to hold and it plays wonderfully. I'm a fan of Fanned Frets (pun intended:)) and this combination of scales is great for everything from Standard to Drop D and even DADGAD and C tunings. But Fanned Frets give you other advantages as well, short easy to bend trebles, better intonation and more even tension from string to string." - Paul Heumiller

"I enjoyed this guitar very much. It's versatile and easy to play as an acoustic or electric. Very comfortable to hold as well." - Al Petteway
