This all custom Bill Moll 7 string archtop plays like all jazz guitars should. It is quick and articulate, yet smooth, with an echoing, pianistic voicing. The seventh string provides additional range and can be used to add a bass element to solos or an extra voice for larger chords. The artfully carved Spruce top is paired with a rippling, flamed Maple body in a pleasing amber color palate, tastefully accented by the all-Ebony bridge, tailpiece, pickguard, pickup cover, fingerboard and headstock. Now that you have everyone's eyes, all you need is its custom, built-in Kent Armstrong pickup and you're ready for the show.

1999 Moll Express/New Yorker 16" 7 String - Archtop Archtop Guitar Player Reviews

Player Reviews:

"Now that Bill is entering semi-retirement, his instruments are becoming harder and harder to find. This one is an all-custom 7 string that's great for those jazz musicians who love to move down in the lower register. Big chord voicings come through strong thanks to its fat, round, mellow tone. This one is a rare breed and I'm lucky to have had the chance to play it." - Paul Heumiller

"I'm not much of a 7-string player, but the sound of this instrument is really superb. The workmanship and woods are really nice as well and I think with a little practice, I could really learn to like having that extra bass string. It's hard to beat the quality of this guitar and it plays like a dream." - Al Petteway
