Kanile'a Ukeleles are well known for making some of the finest ukes on the market, and now they've expanded their offerings to include these incredibly fun-to-play, Islander Pako uke basses in Mahogany (M) or Flamed Mahogany (FM), and strung with the revolutionary Thundergut silicone strings by Aquila. The strings lie at the heart of the Islander's uncanny ability to sound like a full-size upright bass, even though the whole instrument could fit inside a carry-on suitcase! Of course, for the full effect, they should be amplified, but with the proliferation of compact, battery-powered amplifiers available, you could be doing your best Jaco Pastorius impression atop Diamond Head in no time! Comes fretted or fretless.

New Islander By Kanilea Ukulele Pako-FM Ukulele Bass - Ukulele Player Reviews

Player Reviews:

"These great little Islander Pako uke basses by Kanile'a are just too much fun. When I first heard these at the Summer NAMM show, I couldn't believe my ears. I was hooked, and knew we just had to get some into the shop. The Thundergut strings make it possible to draw sweet, mellow, acoustic tones from a package smaller than my tennis racket! Now which one should I keep for myself..." - Paul Heumiller

"These little bass ukes sound great in an ensemble. They have a very acoustic quality to them and if you close your eyes, you'd never know that all of that sound was coming from such a small instrument." - Al Petteway
