Brian Applegate is regarded as one of the very finest steel string guitar makers in this golden age of Luthery. But he is also passionate about the Nylon String guitar including classical, Flamenco and crossover instruments suitable for jazz, brazilian, and more. This guitar is the later, it's is inspired by the style and shape of the Santos Hernandez guitar combined with the bracing structure of Hauser's legendary 1937 Segovia guitar, making this guitar is traditional yet thoroughly modern. The gorgeous Flamed European Maple body, topped with European Spruce, makes for and energetic and clear voice that is well suited for many genres. The flamed maple neck has a slim profile that will also please the crossover player. Brian's quality is top notch and he add some lovely details to this guitar such as a carved side soundport, etched Ivory tie block and custom rosette. This is one beautiful instrument in every way.

"Brian's on to something here... I love the aesthetics of this guitar, every detail fits together beautifully and the woods are outstanding. The Rosette has a lot of subtle details within it and don't miss the gorgeous tie block of etched Ivory. The voice is rich and full enough for the classical repertoire but it's seems best suited for crossover players who might play Jazz, Brazilian, or other 'crossover' genres. The bass is full and rich and the trebles are bright and lively. The neck profile is slender front to back which also supports the hybrid styles. This is a wonderfully crafted instrument sure to delight." - Paul Heumiller
"I believe that this combination of woods is magic when in the right hands. I own two guitars made of European Maple and European Spruce and this one is tempting me. The sound is rich and full, but with plenty of sparkle." - Al Petteway
