How Guitars, 2008 How GC,
Ladder-Braced: John How is making quite a name for himself with his vintage style acoustic guitars inspired by the early Oscar Schmidt
instruments. They really do harken back to a simpler time when guitar was played at every meal time and was a family experience. The mustache bridge, slotted headstock, deep, rich finish and all-over bindings are breathtaking. The ladder braced body is punchy and throaty and really loves to play Blues, Ragtime and Old-Time. Straight from Cool, CA we give you the ladder braced Grand Concert from John How. This instrument features: |

How Guitars, 2008 How GC,
X- Braced: We hand picked this beauty at the Newport/Miami Guitar Festival where it was a favorite on John's table. It's loud and open with a throaty Mahogany growl. This is an all-mahogany guitar with vintage appointments that nod to the Oscar Schmidt guitars of yesteryear. John How has a unique way of really capturing the vintage vibe in a guitar with modern quality and playability. We love the beauty of this Grand Concert but the tone is equally wonderful. It has the great Mahogany clarity of note and great projection. It is perfectly suited for Blues, Rags, Old Time and it looks the part. This instrument features: |

"What a great 00 sized guitar. It has that old look and sound. The all-mahogany body offers up a throaty voice that is perfect for blues."
- Al Petteway
"I hand picked this treasure at the Newport/Miami Guitar Festival. All of John's guitars are great, but this one has an extra touch of mojo. The all mahogany body gives it a wonderful tone for blues and rags and it's very responsive already. It's dressed to the nines in vintage vibe and will entice you to play it daily, guaranteed." - Paul Heumiller

John
How Guitars, 2007 How Concert/Parlor,
Ladder Braced: What first
attracted us to John How's guitars were
his small body designs reminiscent of
the beautiful parlor guitars of the
late nineteenth and early twentieth
centuries. This Concert model is actually
a Parlor sized guitar dressed beautifully
in a dark wine sunburst with a vintage
style mustache bridge, full bindings
on the body, neck and slotted headstock.
But it's character is more than skin
deep, this ladder braced beauty has
a wonderfully balanced voice with just
a hint of that throaty growl that Mahogany
is famous for. This How guitar would
be perfect for Blues, Rags, Old Time
or that best friend guitar you keep
close at hand all day long. As a bonus
it's also small enough to travel with
and you'll want to take it a long with
you... This instrument features: |

- Comments:
"This is one of those sweetheart
guitars we'd all like to have in
our stable, the one you pull out
for that throaty small body voice
when you want a true vintage sound.
Or when you want to just relax on
the porch or the couch and play
for an hour with a glass of wine.
This is that charming, beautiful
guitar that takes you back to when
guitar, not TV, was the family entertainment
and makes you long for a simpler
time. The perfectly balanced voice
is also well suited for recording
and the beautiful facade would be
right at home on stage as well.
John How is building tremendous
modern guitars in the vintage way
and an authentic vibe that really
captures the feel of yesterday."
