New Dake Traphagen Guitars Dreadnought BRS - Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar

Maybe it's the Italian Spruce speaking, maybe it's Dake's experience building highly sought after classical guitars... but this lovely dreadnought is really getting to me. Balance, nuance, warmth, articulation, crispness... it's got it all. Dake Traphagen has miraculously straddled several categories with this rare find. She's easily one of the best strummers in the shop -- push as hard as you want and there's not a hint of harshness. Dig in all the way up the neck and there's not one note that doesn't ring true. Drop the pick and go fingerstyle to be rewarded with warmth and woody overtones. This one is a real prize.

Dream Guitars Player's Review:
"Dake Traphagen is one of my favorite builders, period. He's known primarily for his worldclass classical guitars, but he's always made a variety of instruments. With this Dread, labeled 'Awakening', his experience of crafting guitars with articulation, sustain and beauty is extremely evident. This is a musical Dread for the player seeking all the power but with a real 'voice' as well. This one loves the pick and the fingers. As exciting a Dread as we've seen in a long time..." - Paul Heumiller

"This is a great sounding guitar. The neck is a bit chunky compared to other dreadnoughts, but it feels great. The tone is rich and powerful with just the right amount of bass response." - Al Petteway

"I don't use the term "sweet" to describe many dreads, but I will here. Dake is an extremely refined builder, and that sensibility is very present in this guitar. I'm not a grasser, I don't need a canon to hold up to several other guys pounding simultaneously. There are louder and brighter dreads out there, but this is one of the most MUSICAL I've ever played. Yes, it's loud enough to compete, but it's also sensitive enough to use for other applications. She strums beautifully, sounds very intimate when played fingerstyle, is wonderfully balanced (with no peculiar bass overtones), and has great articulation for single line playing. This is a very fine and slightly unusual dread. She will perform and record beautifully. (Shoot, I want this guitar!)" - Al Schlimm

Another Satisfied Dream Guitars Customer:
"Delivery was so fast, I couldn't believe it. The packaging was perfect and the guitar is in perfect condition. Even better than I expected. You may add me to your 'happy customers' list." - Jean-Pierre, Belgium
