Roy McAlister is very well known for his tradition-inspired designs. This L-012 is Roy's rendition of the famed Gibson Nick Lucas which was a deep body L-00 guitar revered for it's power, projection and added bass response. This guitar has all that in spades. The body is Brazilian Rosewood and the top is Alpine Spruce so you get a lot of rich, powerful tone. The scale is 24.6" which makes for a delightfully easy tension and the wider spacing make it a joy for fingerstyle play. Vintage vibe, slothead, pyramid bridge, it's all here...

2001 McAlister L-012 - L-00, Nick Lucas Acoustic Guitar Player Reviews

Player Reviews:

"A complete small body package. The 12 fret design puts the pyramid bridge in the sweet spot. The short 24.9" scale makes for delightful string tension. The Brazilian and Alpine work in unison to create a powerful sound that is clear yet thick. The slothead and etched tuners give it style. This guitar loves the blues, do you?" - Paul Heumiller

"This is one of my favorite size guitars to play. The bass is so responsive and the trebles so sweet. This little McAlister is a Gem" - Al Petteway
