It is very clear that Dave Ball is a banjo player who makes banjos. Only a player could build an instrument that is so musical, easy to play and inspiring. This one is also completely custom with features that include his Internal Resonator Rim with a Phenolic back, Grenadillo tone ring, Contoured Neck shape, Boat Heel, Scooped Fingerboard, Carbon Fiber reinforced neck, French Polish Finish. Dave Ball also adorned this one with his full Fish Inlay theme on the entire fingerboard, it's is gorgeous. We particularly like the Internal Resonator design, it makes for a mellower, more woody tone that is very compelling.

2003 Ball Custom - Old-Time Banjo, Internal Resonator Rim Banjo Player Reviews

Player Reviews:

"This is one of the best sounding open back banjos I've heard. The Internal Resonator is basically a 'body' instead of just a rim so you get more of the wood character. The result is sweet and warm with a lovely round attack that is perfect for Old-Time music. This is very cool indeed. " - Paul Heumiller

"This is a very unusual banjo with it's resonating chamber and "f" holes. The inlay is beautifully done and has a nautical theme. The design gives it a deep, throaty sound." - Al Petteway
