2007 Matsuda Guitars N.S. Prototype - Crossover Nylon String Classical Guitar

SOLD

There are a handful of builders who are as much artist as they are craftsman. Michi Matsuda is most certainly an artist and it has made his instruments highly sought after. He builds only a few instruments per year and by looking at the details you can understand his low production. He spends a lot of time on every guitar making it both a tool for music and a delight to behold. This nylon string N.S. model is labeled a prototype, making it even more special. It features stunning work in Flamed European Maple with an Italian Spruce top and his bold external neck block design with adjustable neck angle. The voice is all Michi, sweet, clear and refreshing. We are honored to offer this fine and rare guitar.

Player Reviews:

"We are huge fans of Michi's work. As a dealer we are only able to get one guitar every 18 months or so because of his low output. But we understand he's a true artist who takes the time necessary on every guitar. Just look at this one, it's amazing from every angle. It has real style, stunning woods and tone to match. The design centerpiece has to be his external neck block that reduces contact points and allows neck adjustment at the same time. The voice is vibrant and this guitar has a sweet voice that's clear and articulate. The sound is suitable for a variety of genres from traditional to Jazz, Samba, Brazilian and anything else you wish to throw at it. We rarely see a preowned Matsuda and this is a prototype so it's as collectible as it is playable." - Paul Heumiller

"This guitar is as much a work of art as it is a fine musical instrument. As a prototype, it's even more rare. What a beautiful use of wood" - Al Petteway
