2007 Greven Guitars L-00v - 00 Acoustic Guitar

SOLD

John Greven does a really fine L-00 and we're proud to offer this one to pickers and fingerstylists everywhere. It's got that classic Gibson-esque sunburst vibe that we all love. The mahogany back and sides give it that classically punchy focus these guitars are famous for. Ragtime, old time, folk, blues, whatever... this is a guitar you'll love to take out on the porch for hours on end. If you haven't spent much time with an L-00 you should check them out. They occupy a very unique sonic niche and would complement any collection. This very Greven belongs to Craig Fuller, founder of Pure Prairie League and author of the song 'Amie'. According to John Greven this top is very old Sitka from the Gibson Kalamazoo factory circa 1955. John came by it through a local builder who has had it in his stash for 20 odd years.

Player Reviews:

"I only wish John could make more of these, they are tremendous fun and have serious vintage tone and feel. The fact that this one belonged to Craig Fuller of Pure Prairie League is an added bonus." - Paul Heumiller

"This guitar makes me want to play old-time blues and ragtime. It has the old L-00 Gibson vibe for sure." - Al Petteway

"Very nice. It has the focused mids you're looking for in an L-00, but no unpleasant honky overtones. The trebles are fat and firm, and there's good balance and a nice overall warmth. The basses take very well to being plucked and slapped. This one is equally fun to play with a pick or fingers." - Al Schlimm
