From Bill Tippin: "Moon Harvested Spruce comes from Switzerland near the upper part of Italy where Stradivarius acquired his wood. The people that harvest this wood have been doing it for hundreds of years and the process has been passed down form one generation to the next.
The trees are harvested around the cycle of the moon at a certain time of the year where the sap flow of the tree is at it's lowest and is stored in the roots. Therefore, the grain fibers of the Spruce are more open and with less sap content.
They are very selective with the number of trees that they can harvest each year and the trees have to be growing at a certain altitude.
The yield is small and I can only buy 3 sets a year but the quality of tone that you get is great. Rings like a bell."

- Comments: "There are only a few guitars that have come through the shop that I have really wanted to buy. This is one of them. It's elegant and has some beautiful and unique design elements, but the sound is the thing. It is responsive and balanced and sounds perfect all the way up the neck. The beveled cutaway makes it feel totally comfortable playing up past the body and the armrest bevel makes it a joy to hold for long periods. I've already spent more time with this guitar than I did with any of the other guitars that have come through the shop. Bill Tippin has really nailed it with this one. It' mine now and I plan to keep this one as long as I'm around. This new design is a winner and Bill assures me that he can make another one just as good or better than this one. " - Al Petteway
"I'm thankful that Al bought this guitar so I had a reason not to. This is very simply and honestly one of the top 10 guitars I've ever had the pleasure to hear and to play. Bill Tippin has long been a favorite of ours but this is just not fair, what an amazing tone and the design and craftsmanship are unparrallelled." - Paul Heumiller
