Description

Pure iconic. What to say of a guitar such as this, when pictures do so much more justice? This 2015 PRS is number nine of 40 guitars built for Paul Reed Smith’s 30th Anniversary, complete with over 285 individual pieces of inlay, African Ribbon Mahogany body, and a “nightshade” dyed Curly Maple top veneer. This is a true museum-quality piece of PRS history, and comes to us in accordingly mint condition, right down to the Private Stock 30th Anniversary leather case. The sheer amount of work that went into this guitar is staggering, but the effort is worth the result: pure iconic.

Here’s a link to the inlay process from the PRS website: https://www.prsguitars.com/index.php/blog/post/the_private_stock_30th_anniversary_dragon_behind_the_scenes

Woah! PRS Dragon guitars need little introduction these days, as most of us have seen and lusted after one. I find this one stunning. The grayish blue translucent finish over the Flame Maple makes the heart go pitter patter, and that’s before you even get to the dragon inlays that span most of the top and slithers up the fingerboard. So many colors of shell and other materials really bring the dragon to life. Every time I look at the instrument I see another detail that amazes me. This is one you will definitely want to keep in clear sight. Like all PRS guitars it just about plays itself. Some of the best guitars I’ve ever played have been made by Paul Reed Smith and his team.
