This beauty is a custom build for one of our clients. As such it is not available for purchase, but let us know if you'd like to get a McConnell for yourself!
This custom McConnell 16 Inch has more headroom than an open-air coliseum. We tried to overdrive it, really we did, but the more we dug in the louder it got! Jordan voiced the Moonspruce top with a more aggressive attack in mind, and that, coupled with a solid Brazilian Rosewood neck and multiscale frets (26.25” at the bass, 25.5” at the treble), means that this guitar has huge reserves of energy just waiting beneath the surface. Jordan describes the Brazilian back and sides as “hyper premium.” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. The bass response is hefty but well-defined, and the vigorous treble strings cut well in the mix without sounding shrill. Consistent across the fretboard, the voice has a room-filling quality that doesn’t break up when played aggressively. You might want earplugs.
Our client spends most of his time in Standard and DADGAD, so a moderate multiscale made the most sense—drop this beau into the D register and you’ll be scrambling for words to describe the force of nature in your hands. The oil-rubbed BRW neck feels familiar like a vintage guitar, age-smoothed into velvet. But you can’t play it every hour of every day (though it’s tempting to try, trust us), so for the rare moment you aren’t playing this guitar there’s a panoply of gorgeous appointments to gaze upon. Jordan’s braided inlays ( (Brazilian Rosewood, Ebony, Satinwood, Gold MOP) are distributed across the guitar, from the headstock veneers to the rosette and the end graft. McConnell’s visual elegance is a perfect complement to the regal sonority and balance that characterize his voice. Heirloom-grade lutherie.

I had a blast working with the client on this custom order. We based the multiscale dimensions after my personal McConnell. Ditto on the Brazilian Rosewood neck and rubbed finish. This one has a more focused attack than many of Jordan's other guitars, and drives really well with a pick.
Simply an incredible guitar in all ways. The design is gorgeous and it has headroom to spare. Lots great punch in the bass and balanced all the way across the strings.
