Description

Playing this guitar is like running your hands through silk sheets: the 2016 Ryan Nightingale Grand Soloist is performs like a well-oiled machine. And, as close to brand new as you can get without having to remove plastic shrink wrap, this lovely fingerstyle guitar combines Indian Rosewood, Cedar, and Kevin Ryan's signature Arm Bevel & Acoustic Flutes into a resonant and responsive complete package. The setup is slinky and low, perfect for deft left hand work and complex chord work, but just by letting the open strings ring you can soak up some rich sustained notes. Barely more than a year old, and this Ryan is already nicely opened up, offering the kind of smooth projection and string-to-string balance we've come to expect from all of Kevin Ryan's handiwork.

I love the fast setup and the glassy trebles. The Cedar top warms up the voice a little, but without compromising articulation.

The setup is fast and smooth It has that dark, warm sound that Ryan Nightingales are famous for, but with lots of sparkle in the high frequencies and overtones. Great for solo fingerstyle playing.
