George Lowden’s S body is petite, and offers an easy playing experience. It also affords an immediacy and intimacy to the voice that’s particularly present in this 2021 S-50. Such a unique sound. With Cocobolo and “Driftwood” Sinker Cedar on top, this one looks gorgeous as well—and these woods also help fill out the voice and add even more warmth and power to the overtones. The short, 24 3/4” scale is very easy on the hands, and adds roundness to the trebles. This Lowden is not one to let slip away; you won’t want to let go.

The team at Lowden selected some beautiful wood for this S-50 model. The Driftwood Sinker Red Cedar has a very natural appeal to me and the Cocobolo is dark and beautiful. The S model is a great size for comfort and beautiful, balanced sound.
I haven’t been struck by trebles like these in a long time. What a meaty, but balanced, sound! George’s team rendered a S-50 replete with glassy overtones, velvety depth, and an effortless setup. I honestly don’t want to set this one down for a second. - Accessories
