Palen Guitars Learn More +
Palen archtops have gained much attention and a growing fan base for their build quality and tone. They are built with a traditional "X" brace style harking back to D'Aquisto's school of design. These are lightweight and responsive for excellent acoustic playing.
Nelson Palen made his first archtop guitar using information from the internet as well as internet-based guitar-making classes, and a video on the subject. He also corresponded with other archtop luthiers. Palen uses “X” bracing style harking back to the D’Aquisto school of design. These are lightweight and responsive for excellent acoustic playing.
He has been building since around 1999.
