Shelley's craftsmanship and deep appreciation for the subtleties and qualities of fine wood, combined with her affinity for acoustic music led her naturally to a career in lutherie. Her love of the music of Django Reinhardtfurther focused her lutherie skills, constructing guitars based on the original designs of Mario Maccaferri andthe Selmer Company of France. Shelley D. Park has now been building fine guitars in Vancouver, British Columbia since 1991. Shelley also brings a wealth of listening and playing experience to her craft. She played rhythm guitar in the popular gypsy jazz ensemble Pearl Django for 6 years, and has had a long and intimate connection to the classic Selmer guitar sound. Shelley's exquisite craftmanship and attention to detail are reflected in every instrument she builds. I've long been impressed with Shelley Park's guitars. The execution is exquisite and her passion for the art of Lutherie is very obvious. Her guitars are a true representation of the great Maccaferri and Selmer guitars.
