1989 Richard Schneider Kasha Classical, Redwood Top & Back, Brazilian Rosewood Sides
Richard Schneider’s Kasha-style Classicals are true treats. This example from 1989 features Redwood top and back and Brazilian Rosewood sides, offset soundhole and asymmetrical bridge, and brass frets on a 670mm scale neck. Access panel at the tail to boot! The voice is dialed in for exquisite precision across the registers. Eschewing the concept of a tieblock altogether, this Kasha-Style Classical anchors the strings from the inside of the guitar, accessible via the access panel Schneider includes at the tail. All wrapped up in the original custom Mark Leaf flight case, this Schneider Kasha Classical is always safe and sound on those rare occasions when the guitar isn’t in your hand.s
We even have an endorsement from the great master himself, Andrés Segovia, for Schneider’s work (and what higher praise could there be?): “I consider Mr. Richard Schneider a magnificent builder of guitars. He is a very efficient collaborator to Mr. Kasha…and still continue experimenting…to increase the volume of its sound without sacrificing its delicacy.”

An incredibly unique guitar from the late Richard Schneider. This is a Kasha Braced Nylon string acoustic/electric with incredible tones thanks to the Brazilian Rosewood sides, Redwood back, and Spruce top. It is constructed using the Kasha bracing method and incorporating a Redwood back, offset soundhole, jumbo round frets for mass and an impedance matched bridge design. All of this adds up to the unique Schneider voice that is powerful and compelling. The bass is huge and round and the trebles are articulate with great projection. This is a contemporary instrument capable of both modern and classic tones. Included is rare video footage of Richard Schneider himself explaining the workings of this wonderful instrument and it’s custom designed microphone. This is a wonderfully collectible and eminently playable guitar. http://www.jthbass.com/kasha.html Click here for a great article about Schneider and Kash by Vince Meyer.

This rare and boisterous Schneider boasts some of the most unique and innovative bracing ever seen in the guitar world: Kasha style bracing. Schneider’s Kasha bracing takes a step from the traditional, but the flying buttresses, chaotic bracing pattern and a little black magic bring about astounding results in this guitar. The Premium Grade Redwood top and back pair with ultra rigid Brazilian Rosewood sides to give this instrument a powerful, sustaining sound that projects with gusto. In voice, it is inspiring – the bass rolls out with ease, followed by full, strong mids and great, punching and sustaining trebles. It is equal parts professional instrument and masterwork objet d’art. One you simply won’t want to miss.

Richard Schneider passed in 1997 but he left a long legacy of Luthiers that are better for having known him. His guitars are powerful and expressive. An innovator for sure, and most certainly a friend to the musician.
