With so many guitars already out there in need of my brace work I did not decide to try my hand at building until I thought I could contribute something new. Having spent a few thousand nights sitting on a barstool trying to get comfortable with my D-28, I decided to design a new body shape: a dreadnought size box comfortable to hold over the right leg while sitting. And so, in 1999, I designed and built my first pinchnought--with a narrower and lower waist. I now offer an OM and GC as well, all featuring my parabolic bracing and unique neck joint. To read about parabolic bracing click here.
I've known of Scott through his brace shaping work on factory guitars and was excited to see his parabolic bracing ideas in his own design. Parabolic bracing makes perfect sense to me and we've enjoyed guitars built with that technique from other makers for years. Scott makes great use of it to create guitars that have greater energy, full bass and fat trebles.
