This 2015 PRS Hollowbody I is no ordinary build—it was crafted in direct collaboration with master luthier Jason Kostal, a former apprentice of Ervin Somogyi and a towering figure in modern acoustic guitar making. Designed to Jason’s personal spec, and with custom inlay work developed alongside Aulsen Inlay, this instrument reflects the fusion of high-end electric craftsmanship and luthier-level detail.
Built around a fully hollow body with no center block, it features a striking Curly Maple top and matching Curly Mahogany back, paired with a Curly Maple neck carved to PRS’s classic Wide-Fat profile—chunky, supportive, and articulate. The fretboard and headstock veneer are cut from dark Ebony, punctuated with the iconic PRS bird inlays, executed with custom flair through the Kostal x Aulsen partnership.
Under the hood, a matched set of PRS 57/08 pickups offers vintage-voiced warmth and clarity, delivering everything from jazzy cleans to punchy midrange growl. The adjustable stoptail bridge ensures stable intonation and sustain, while hybrid hardware adds a modern, two-tone edge. Finished in a luscious Violin high-gloss nitrocellulose, this guitar resonates with elegance—visually and tonally.

MmmMmmMmm, juicy 57/08s on this one. Hands down, PRS's hollowbody models are my favorite of their offerings. This guy feels great, looks great, doesn't weigh a thing, and is packing lots of variety with humbuckers plus their piezo pickup system.
