- Description

All things are possible with time. And the past forty years have treated this guitar well, indeed. This is German luthier Dieter Hopf’s top-of-the-line Solistengitarre Gran Concierto model from 1981, with rich Brazilian Rosewood back and sides and a Red Cedar top to match. 660mm scale, fabulous condition overall with only a few marks, and this neck has a full, well-curved profile. The voice is colored by the added warmth of Cedar, and the middle register helps fill it out with a nice touch of woody clarity. The Hopf family has been building instruments for over 300 years, and they’ve mastered their craft over the years: this 1981 Gran Concierto from Dieter is in excellent condition, and it’s more than ready to keep on making music.

Wonderful, slightly larger-bodied guitar from Dieter Hopf. Known for German craftsmanship and a clear voice, this guitar has all of that and more. The bass response is wonderful thanks to the Gran Concierto size, and the trebles sing out strongly. This is a great guitar for someone who likes a powerful instrument.
