Plug this one into the mainline! What a powerhouse. Steven Walter’s been building in the Humphrey Millennium style for years, each time resulting in a strong, vigorous voice, and this beauty from 2013 is just that. Great fundamental, with a powerful projection from the elevated fingerboard and activated top; plus twin soundports to add a bit of “me in the monitors” fo the player. The back and sides are dramatically figured Malaysian Blackwood, and we’ve got Cedar on top. A softer tone wood than Spruce, but here producing a crisp and dynamic tone. 650mm scale feels right at home, and Walter added a side dot at the seventh fret for easier fretboard orienteering.

Stephen Walter was a great friend of Tom Humphrey, and builds a wonderful version of the Millennium design. This one has been played in so it has the wonderful opened up voice of a mature guitar that is fully singing to the delight of all who are within earshot.
