Beautiful. Hats off to Santa Cruz for coaxing so much sweetness and articulation out of a single guitar. Using primo materials like this tight Adi top, and curled Brazilian Rosewood too, certainly helps, but we’d wager it’s got more to do with the care and passion that the SCGC team put into pulling off this magic trick. This 00 is built to their 1934 specs, offering a modern approach to the classic prewar formula, and they managed to thread that needle perfectly. Excellent fit and finish, a voice that boasts richness and separation at the same time, and a spacious neck profile for comfortable fretting. What more could you ask for? All wrapped up in a Hoffee flight case to boot.

Richard Hoover's done so much for the lutherie community. It's great to see another example of his team's handiwork here in the shop, this time upgraded with Brazilian Rosewood and vintage design specs. Don't let the small dimensions fool you, this one packs a wallop.
