From 2007, we have an incredible example of the late Tom Doerr’s work — a guitar that truly pulls out all the stops, from its carved headplate to the abalone appointments throughout. Built with Brazilian Rosewood and Redwood, it’s a deeply sonorous instrument, especially in the hands of a builder like Tom. After nearly two decades to open up, this guitar now carries all the character and tone one could hope for. There’s also a beautifully executed soundport carving outlined in koa detailing, along with a cutaway and fingerstyle spacing. This guitar is an absolute treat to have in the shop.
