Balance, power, and a crisp response makes for an expressive and punchy player that works for just about everything--this 2013 Bourgeois OMC Soloist is a knockout. This beauty is in exellent condition, and frankly it's itching to be played. African Blackwood back and sides pairs up with German Spruce for a snappy top end and rich bass; venetian cutaway grants extra access to those topmost frets; pyramid bridge and squared off headstock a nod to the American classic flattop ideal.

German Spruce over African Blackwood is one of my favorite wood combinations. I love the strong midrange they impart to this Soloist, without compromising top end shimmer or clarity in the bass.
Snappy and crisp, with a stiff midrange that holds up and speaks out in a range of tunings, are the makings of a great fingerstyle instrument. The German Spruce top is also stiff enough to hold up well for some flatpicking work too; versatility is the word here.
