The setup is slinky and low, perfect for deft left hand work and complex chord work, but just by letting the open strings ring you can soak up some rich sustained notes. Barely more than a year old, and this Ryan is already nicely opened up, offering the kind of smooth projection and string-to-string balance we’ve come to expect from all of Kevin Ryan’s handiwork.
I love the fast setup and the glassy trebles. The Cedar top warms up the voice a little, but without compromising articulation.
