Description

Here we have a wonderful guitar from German luthier Edgar Mönch, built in 1972 in his Frieburg, Germany shop. Later Mönch moved from from Munich to Toronto, Canada in 1965. There, he trained such guitar luminaries as Jean Larrivee who in turn taught Sergei de Jonge. John Williams played a Edgar Monch guitar early in his career. It isn't very often that these outstanding instruments come up on the market, and when they do, they are usually snatched up quickly.

This fine guitar was built in 1972, and overall is in great shape. The body is Brazilian Rosewood and German Spruce and together the woods combine for a strong projection and clear 'German' tone. It's easy to be articulate and accurate on this guitar. See what John Williams discovered in the magnificent voice of this suberb guitar from Edgar Monch!

The great German makers are known for building top quality instruments which a clear, powerful voice. This Edgar Mnch concert guitar from 1972 is a prime example. It affords the player a myriad of tools for expression, dynamic range, clarity, focus, articulation and sweet beauty. The nearly 40 year old top is worth it's weight in gold as a fully broken-in Spruce top is capable of a world of colors and expression. This is special.
