This Walnut and Cedar McIlroy A25C plays and sounds like a Dream! It is an exceptional all-around guitar - and certainly well suited for Celtic and fingerstyle music. Built in Ireland a decade ago, the voice of this guitar is open and rich with a nice roundness to the trebles. McIlroy guitars are hard to come by these days as Dermot has a long waiting list due to their great value and amazing tone.
Those who have played them, know that Dermot McIlroy's guitars offer immense bang for the buck. The sound and the feel go well beyond what is normally available in this price range. Appropriate for any style of music, it sounds great played in all dynamic ranges, with a pick or with fingers.
Nice fingerstyle instrument with perfect balance. It's also really nice as a strumming instrument. I would recommend this guitar highly to players of Celtic music.
