Dermot McIlroy builds wonderful instruments in his shop in Ireland. The AC30 is a small jumbo guitar with great power and wonderful bass response. This guitar excels at both accompaniment and fingerstyle. This one sports beautiful Rosewood and Sitka Spruce along with a cutaway, wood bindings and custom Celtic markers.
Dermot was the long time shop foreman at Lowden guitars. His own instruments have a sparkle reminiscent of Lowden but with a different midrange voice. This guitar loves to be hit hard and is very articulate when played lightly. It's versatile enough for many styles of music. The woods and craftsmenship are excellent. I especially like the Celtic inlays, a nice touch.
