Here we have an excellent archtop guitar in Redwood and Walnut from builder, Michael Lewis. It's obvious this one's been played, judging by the openness of the voice. It's remarkable how sweet this instrument sounds played acoustically, but when plugged-in, the true beauty of it's voice, as well as the quality of the Bartolini pickup, really shines through. Sweet, fat, and mellow are all apt descriptors, and surely this guitar has seen many a late-night jazz club jam session. Additionally, the satin-finished walnut neck feels superb in-hand.
This is a great, played-in archtop by Michael Lewis. It sounds so sweet, even acoustically, and has tons of warmth and strength in the bass. The gorgeous walnut neck really adds to the sustain, and the narrower nut width would be ideal for someone with smaller hands, yet it doesn't feel cramped either. I also think Redwood is an excellent choice paired with the Walnut back and sides. This is just a wonderful player all around.
This is one of the best playing archtops I've had the pleasure of demoing. The neck is a perfect size and shape for soloing and the tone is absolutely perfect both amplified and acoustically.
