Description

NOT FOR SALE: This Mountain Song Custom Baritone Multiscale was commissioned by Dream Guitars owner Paul Heumiller in his favorite woods for Baritone guitar, rare Padauk and powerful Adirondack Spruce. This combination ensures a clear voice even when tuned down to low A and driven hard. The multiscale scales are 28.5 in. on the bass side and 27 in. on the treble side making for wonderful playability and tone in the alternate tunings Paul uses. Other custom options include an asymmetrical neck carve, 'OM' inlay at the 12th Fret, armrest and ribrest bevels in Ebony and a beautiful wooden rosette.

"This guitar was a wonderful collaboration between Ken Jones and myself. I selected my favorite specs from the many baritones we've sold over the years and incorporated them all into this guitar. It is the finest Baritone I've ever held. Ken really nailed it tonally, ergonomically and aethestically. I play this guitar every day and it's already inspiring new songs. For me that's the sign of a great guitar... inspiration to play." - Paul Heumiller

We loved this one so much that we teamed up with Al Petteway and recorded it on our latest album: Dream Guitars Volume II Hand Picked. It is Track #6 - Saturday Night Strut

Every once in a while I get to create a Dream Guitar for myself. This is one! I've long wanted a multiscale Baritone that would be able to growl in the low register but remain clear, articulate and easy to play. By choosing these woods, the multiscale frets and some of Ken's magical voicing abilities, we exceeded my hopes for this instrument. It handles fingerstyle, pounding rhythm and in many tunings. I'm in love!

One of the best Baritone guitars I've played at the shop. The tone is great and it plays like a dream. The multiscale frets make the tension feel perfect in dropped tunings. I had a lot of fun recording on this one for Dream Guitars Volume II - Hand Picked.
