Description

Matt Mustapick is known for fresh ideas, he frequently builds fan and baritone guitars, unique pieces and always with lovely woods. This Arena OM has a lot of cool features, first of all it is a multiscale design combining short scale trebles (24.9") and long scale basses (25.5). This has multiple benefits including even tension across strings, improved intonation and the ability to handle low tunings extremely well. This Mustapick OM also has a wedge body and an armrest bevel making it easy to hold. There's a cutaway for full access as well and all of this on a body crafted of premium Cocobolo Rosewood and European Spruce.

I've watched Matt Mustapick grow as a luthier and this is very fine work indeed. I really like the separation and power of this guitar. I'm a huge proponent of multiscale design as I love the more even tension it provides and since I play in many tunings, it's ideal. Longer bass and shorter trebles strings works very well for DADGAD, C9 and other similar tunings. The armrest, wedge body, multiscale frets, and premium woods make this a bargain as well...

I really like this guitar. It's got the balance and warmth of a good classical, yet the sparkle of a steel string. The multiscale design is very comfortable and makes the tension feel perfect. All of the details from the side port to the armrest bevel are exquisite.
