This is our first guitar from Maker Steven Kinnaird of Texas and what a beauty. High Curl Western Big Leaf maple with a nearly black sunburst makes for dramatic hide and seek with the figure of the Maple. The sides and neck are tone to match as well. The top is Engelmann which adds a decided warmth to the responsiveness of the Maple. The voice is very strong, very rich and beautiful. From top to bottom, literally, the adornments are stunning. Starting with the unique shape of the slotted headstock which is guilded in Gold and White Pearl, also bound and bordered. Then comes a solid Pearl nut that Steven Kinnaird said he’s always wanted to try. Then on to the beautifully bound and bordered fingerboard that is dressed again in a lovely mix of Gold and White Pearl. Lastly, the rosette is captivating with shell inset into deep black wood. White perflings on all sides add lovely contrast to the dark burst and bring the canvas to life. But when you are not staring at it you will love playing this guitar. It’s alive, beautiful, easy to hold and to play. It’s at once a gentleman’s guitar and a man’s guitar…

Here’s a great little player’s Collings 000-2HSB guitar from 2002. Its Indian/Spruce body has been played a bunch by one of our local clients who can really play. So many good notes have broken it in for you and it’s mature and alive now. It’s got the slothead and sunburst everybody loves but a few scratches and dings have it priced to go. If you value tone over condition, don’t miss this chance at a Collings 000 at a player price.

This is the very first production version of Joe Veillette’s wonderful Gryphon High Tuned 12 String design. Joe personally played this guitar for some time. The Gryphon is uses a 18.5″ scale tuned up to high D to create a wonderful mandolin like chime, only warmer and tuned in the same intervals as guitar, so any guitarist can play it immediately. This Prototype is a solid body version made from Poplar with a Quilted Maple top and matching headplate. A maple neck fitted with a Wenge Fingerboard that matches the Wenge Bridge/tailpiece. The single cutaway allows full access to the highest frets. An Alvarez P.V. pickup system provides separate saddle elements and an onboard preamp with contour and 3 Band EQ. This is a superb gigging Gryphon and has the history of being first ever Gryphon, a design we feel is one of the most exciting and fresh in years.
2006 Veillette Gryphon Mahogany/Sitka
This early Veillette Gryphon is the sister guitar to Dave Mathew’s second Gryphon. Made at the same time from same materials. The Veillette Gryphon is a short scale, high tuned 12 string guitar that sounds at a ‘D’ like the 10th fret of a guitar. Imagine a lush, warmer mandolin chime. This one has a slightly shallower body which gives it serious punch and a beautiful shimmer. The DTAR 18V pickup is superb and this one has the built-in Tuner option as well. The playability is superb and a cosmetic finish issue on top makes this one very affordable for a lucky payer somewhere in guitarland. Here’s your chance to add one of the most exciting modern designs to your arsenal. We guarantee smiles when you play this guitar.

It features a gorgeous Brazilian Rosewood and Sitka Spruce body with an Armrest Bevel and venetian cutaway. This guitar is great proof of how good Sitka Spruce can be as it has had a ton of great music pumped through it to bring to it’s full potential. But don’t worry I asked Steve and he said he left some good notes in there. Don’t miss a rare preowned Ryan Nightingale, especially this one…

The guitars of the late great Tony Zemaitis are the stuff of legend! And with good reason too — they were played by some of the biggest names in the history of Rock and Roll. George Harrison, Keith Richards, Ron Wood, Eric Clapton amongst them — Rock royalty does not get bigger than that! Sadly, Tony Z passed on in 2002, but before he did, a gentleman named David Brewis contacted him with hopes of commissioning a guitar. Tony explained that he was now retired, and he would no longer be building, but he graciously offered Brewis one of his official jigs in which to build a guitar. Within weeks Brewis was given 10 jigs and patterns, and permission to build guitars with them utilizing the talents of luthier Kevin Parsons. In so doing, Brewis was dubbed “Dave of England” and “Keeper of the Jigs and Keeper of the Patterns”! Dream Guitars is fortunate to have one of these fine and rare guitars to offer. This is a Queen of Hearts guitar designed by artist and author Paul Schmidt and built by Dave of England guitars. With it’s distinct styling and imaginative lines, this guitar could easily have been built by the hands of the master himself. But it is more than an interesting piece, it is also an extremely toneful one. The neck is on the slender side, and the guitar itself is lightweight. It has a fine fast attack, superb for Townshend-esque strumming — but played softly, it has a sweet remarkable tone that is very responsive to dynamics. In all, it is a wonderful guitar with a distinct voice and a truly special voice.
