2002 Greenfield G2 Fan Fret Bubinga/Adirondack Red
Here’s a custom Greenfield built on Michael’s G2 body shape with a 28″-26″multiscale neck. This design makes for a powerful Greenfield guitar that excels at Low tunings. The body is crafted from premium Bubinga, African Rosewood with lovely figure and deep brown and orange hues and topped with master grade Adirondack Red Spruce. This is one powerful guitar with clarity and balance and it works wonderfully in low C tunings when strung heavily or strung lightly in DADGAD. This is a very unique Greenfield indeed.

2001 Collings DS2HBaaaA Brazilian/Adirondack
The DS2HBaaaA model from Collings is a 12 fret Slope Shoulder Dread designed for maximum tone. The 12 fret neck allows the bridge to be positioned further down into the heart of the top where it can produce maximum energy in the top. You also getting a somewhat sweeter quality when you play gently. But this is a big guitar and it is happy to be hit hard and play loud as well. If you are after that ‘complete’ Brazilian/Adirondack voice, enjoy a wider neck and want all the tone, the Collings DS is for you and this is a great one.

New Jenkins Gitjo Bubinga & Maple

New PRS Angelus Acoustic Cocobolo Rswd/European
We’ve been watching the evolution of Paul Reed Smith’s new acoustic guitars very closely. First we used one on the Tony McManus’ Maker’s Mark, The Dream Guitars Sessions, CD. Then Paul was kind enough to send us a demo guitar to critique. We put these guitars through the paces and have found them to be inspiring. Luthier Steve Fischer, formerly of McPherson Guitars, joined Paul to design the Tonare Grand and Angelus models. They employ a hybrid X and Fan Bracing pattern that really works to energize the top. We hand selected this Angelus during a visit to the PRS Factory (see video below) and it’s one of the very first Private Stock acoustics from PRS. Premium Cocobolo Rosewood body, fingerboard, bridge and headplate, Bearclaw European Spruce, Select Green Abalone trim, including the new open PRS birds, this one has the best of everything. The Angelus is 000/OM size guitar that morphs from a sweet, gentle voice to boisterous punch when driven hard. This Angelus comes complete with a PRS active pickup system based on the McIntyre Feather, which we love, and an Ameritage case. We are proud to be offering Private Stock PRS acoustic guitars.

2007 Manzer Baritone Curly Koa/German
Linda Manzer needs little introduction to the guitar aficionado, but if you’ve never played one of her Baritone Guitars read on… Linda has a real knack for Baritone instruments, as evidenced by Pat Metheny’s use of one just like this one below on his ‘One Quiet Night’ CD. The purity and clarity of voice, that all her instruments share, really sets her long scale guitars apart. This stunning Koa and German Spruce Wedge body is small, by baritone standards, yet the voice is full and satisfying. The Koa offers great separation of notes played anywhere on the fingerboard. The playing dimensions are 1 3/4″ at the nut and 2 1/4″ at the saddle, again slightly smaller than some baritones, but combined with the body size and neck profile make this bari easy to hold and play. The 28.75″ scale easily handles low A tunings and can come up to B or C depending on string gauges. To sum it up, Linda knows Baritones…
New Maingard GC Brazilian/Red Cedar
Builder Marc Maingard has a wonderful stash of perfect Cedar tops that he got from classical maker Jose Oribe. We custom ordered this sublime Florentine cutaway Grand Concert and Marc used one of his very finest sets of Brazilian and an extra silky top. We requested the special fingerboard crafted of bookmatched Brazilian Rosewood to add natural drama. The top trim is Birdsfoot and there are DUAL BEVELS. This really is a breathtaking guitar, but you have to play to find it’s true beauty. The voice is simply magical. For starters it’s very loud and responsive and it is also very clear and balanced, with a powerful bass and articulate and strong trebles.

2007 Sheppard GA Dream Series #6 of 10 African Blackwood/Bosnian
African Blackwood is one of the most sought after woods these days for high-end guitars. Not just because of it’s beauty, but for it’s utterly sweet voice and superb sustain. It’s harder to find than even Brazilian, particularly in 2 piece backs. Our Dream Series from Gerald Sheppard all have amazing sets of rare African Blackwood including dramatic sapwood section which Gerald showcases in the back, headplate, bindings and rosette and butt wedge. 2003 Sand Jose Feliciano Indian/Spruce
Here we have the Jose Feliciano model by Kirk Sand. The cutaway and narrower neck with a radiused fingerboard make this a versatile crossover guitar for any style of Nylon guitar. As you can imagine in a guitar who’s namesake is Jose Feliciano, you can drive this guitar hard. The spruce top stays with you offering plenty of headroom. The neck feel is fast and easy to play and there are 16 frets clear on the treble side. The dual source B-Band pickup sounds terrific and makes this a great stage guitar.

2009 Ribbecke Halfling Pin Bridge Indian Rswd/Sitka
The Ribbecke Halfling concepts combines a Flattop design with that of an Archtop. The bass side of the soundboard is flat while the treble side is arched. From the Ribbecke website “The Halflings� are capable of large full fundamental bass response with the ability to hear and distinguish all the notes of a complex chord when ringing together.” Just a few minutes playing this Ribbecke guitar and you can sense how unique the design is. The bass is much more responsive than an archtop, yet the trebles have the clarity and punch archtop players will love.

New Veillette Gryphon 12 String Mahogany/Sitka
We suggested to Joe Veillette that he try an oval hole design for his Gryphon High Tuned 12 strings and here it is. This new look is very classy and sophisticated. This one is crafted from mahogany and spruce for the body, has a soft sunburst, onboard DTAR Wavelength 18v pickup system and an onboard tuner that is super easy to use. We finished it off with an upgrade to a hardshell case. We absolutely love this design by Joe Veillette, imagine a glorious sounding 12 string capoed at the 10th fret. That what you get hear, a short scale, easy to play unison 12 string (no octaves), that’s tuned high to D. The result is a huge and beautiful double course sound, like a mandolin only richer and warmer. Any guitarist can play it, using everything you already know, but you’ll get a fresh sound that will inspire you and your band.

2007 Novax AX-6 Fanned Fret Flamed Maple/Mahogany
Here we have a wonderful custom Novax multiscale guitar. This Expression, now renamed AX-6, features a stunning Flamed Maple top over Mahogany with a scale combination of 27.25″ on the bass and 25″ on the treble. There’s a Bartolini Soapbar pickup and a Graph Tec Ghost Bridge System with a 9 pin jack as well as the standard 1/4″ jack. There are controls to blend the pickups and mini toggles for advancing the MIDI channel and a coil tap. All of this adds up to a super versatile guitar well suite for Jazz players seeking the best of everything.
