Tippin DST 12 Made For Martin Simpson Madagascar/Alpine
Bill Tippin is one of our favorites in these parts, and here’s another reason why. His obsessive attention to detail, impeccable craftsmanship, and singular voice is clearly evident in this slope shoulder that was built for award winning guitarist Martin Simpson of England. The Madagascar rosewood back and sides are stunning, and they pair beautifully with an Alpine Spruce top to produce a tone that is both confident and velvety. Dream Guitars owner Paul Heumiller worked with Martin and Bill when this guitar was built and remembers it fondly. “Martin and I met Bill Tippin in the late 1990s and Martin flipped over Bill’s guitars and immediately ordered this DST and a 000.” – Paul Heumiller
2007 Traugott BK Mahogany/German One Of A Kind Comments by Jeff Traugott
This is as far as we know, the only Mahogany Guitar Jeff Traugott has ever built. It was a custom project that Jeff really got into. He was excited to try his hand with this classic wood and did it ever work. This BK, Jeff’s largest body size, really has a cavernous voice with wonderful projection. The bass has the woody and clear Mahogany character and the treble fire as quick as a bullet. All of the Traugott clarity and richness are present but the Mahogany is more immediate and responsive. Great guitar for the player who want the Traugott character but maybe plays more Blues or other styles where quick response is key. A terrific guitar. This will be the guitar I make for myself when time allows. New DeVine Parlor Brazilian/Redwood
What a wonderful way to introduce you, our customers, to luthier Eric DeVine of Maui, Hawaii. This little sweetie is as good as it gets in a Parlor guitar. It is as loud as a Grand Concert with a rich redwood voice that is dipped in Chocolate. The trebles are smooth and strong and the bass is resounding. The picture are proof enough of it’s beauty, we rarely see inlays so tastefully designed and masterfully executed. Any one of us here would love to own this masterpiece, so if you don’t buy it for yourself maybe buy it for one of us?

New Applegate Dream Series SJ Brazilian/European The Best Of Everything!
Here we have an absolutely stunning Dream Series guitar from our friend, Brian Applegate. Brian has truly arrived as a world class luthier and this is a wonderful example of his highly refined sensibilities. This particular set of Brazilian Rosewood and Euro-Spruce have combined to produce a guitar that is stunningly lively and open. Add to that Brian’s typically first-rate appointments (the graceful bevel, the intricate rosette…) and you have a work of art right there in your arms. Your jaw will drop when you hear how big this thing sounds. Caress it lightly with your fingers, stand back, and say “wow.” We all did.

Here we have the Tippin Baritone built upon his Bravado body shape. With a 27.5″ scale and master grade woods this is a worldclass guitar that is versatile and beautiful. The back and sides are premium old growth Brazilian Rosewood and bring warmth and clarity, the top is Carpathian Spruce with the power and articulation that a Baritone requires. Bound from head to toe in flamed Koa, this one is elegant and natural. Tunings from low A to C work well and you can of course use a variety of string gauges as well. New Vines Artisan Quilted Sapelle/Western Red Cedar
Here’s a great player from Tony Vines. The Quilted Sapelle is just beautiful and it’s matched with a sweet Cedar top to round out the tone nicely. The multi-part mahogany/maple neck adds another dimension. With this one I particularly enjoyed playing light fingerstyle or digging in for some bluesy vibes, but she also holds up to a vigorous strum. Quite versatile.
1999 Gibson SG Les Paul Custom Mahogany, Inverness Green 3 ’57 Humbuckers
Here we have a lovely custom shop Les Paul SG Custom in Inverness Green with 3 ’57 Humbuckers. From Epinions.com: The current incarnation of the Les Paul SG Custom Reissue differs from the original in several important ways. One of the most notable is that the guitar upon which it is based had a slightly larger body, and the manner in which the neck of the Les Paul Custom SG Reissue is joined to the body is more sturdy. Many of the original 1961’s had to have their neck joint repaired over the years for this reason. The neck on the original also had a tendency to whip a bit with hard playing, because of the manner in which it joined the body, and this whipping tendency was also accentuated by the thinness of the neck. Of course, this added to problems in keeping the guitar in tune. These problems have been eliminated in the Les Paul Custom SG Reissue, and the neck is somewhat slightly thicker, has a stronger truss rod, the heel joint where the neck joins the body is more substantial, the neck has a longer tenon. Thus, the Les Paul Custom SG Reissue does not have a tendency to whip or bend like the original, and thus holds its tune significantly better than the original, and it is not prone to the neck joint cracks or breaks that plagued the original.
1940 Martin 00-21 Brazilian/Adirondack One Owner Until 2009
A lot was going on in the world in 1940 and this Martin 00-21 was there to be a part of it. Maybe it belonged to a soldier or a helped a family to cope with impending world war. But clearly this guitar has a history, it’s wear tells of stroke after stroke of the pick and we can only guess as the notes and chords that have flown from its soundhole. We do know the initials J.D.T. carved in it’s top were from a proud owner John D. Tilley, no doubt marking his lifelong companion. This pre-war 1940 Martin 00-21 is largely original and in great playing condition. It had only one owner until 2009. The tone is that magical sound everyone wants, bold and lively with richness from old Brazilian Rosewood and power and clarity from Adirondack Red Spruce with nearly 70 years of play on it. While not a pristine collector, this is an awesome player’s vintage Martin, priced fairly and offering magic for your fingertips.

2006 Wingert EVC Dream Series, Brazilian Rosewood/Italian Spruce
Our very first Dream Series instruments were a collaboration with Kathy Wingert inspired by 10 sets of old ‘black’ Brazilian Rosewood she was looking to do something special with. We our very proud of this series, now completely SOLD OUT. Like all of our Dream Series, we allow the builder to do their finest work, without comprimise. The tone and beauty of this Grand Concert from Kathy Wingert is proof that this formula works. 2007 Alberico Grand Auditorium Ziricote/German
This is an extremely beautiful Grand Auditorium crafted from a stunning set of Ziricote by luthier Fabrizio Alberico. The Ziricote has dramatic figure and gives this guitar a bright, clear voice. The German top is master grade and has a rich golden patina. The rosette is a gorgeous ribbon design and along with the figure Ziricote headplate sets this guitar apart from the others on the wall, it’s simply eye catching. This is a great large body guitar for the player seeking a big, but bright voice with great bass response that always remains clear.

2006 Buscarino Mira Ash/Birdseye Maple
John Buscarino’s Mira solid-body electric boasts top-of-the-line components, select-grade woods and John’s fanatical attention to detail. You’ve got to check out this bird’s eye maple neck yourself — striking! The Mira comes with three of John’s finest custom pickups. The result is a guitar with voices for your every genre — jazz, rock, funk… whatever! Pickup-wise, there’s a high-output Alnico 5 in the rear, one Alnico 3 in the middle (with the coils facing each other in the center for a fat single coil sound), and one Alnico 3 in the front with series parallel wiring and a push pull pot to go from a warm jazz sound to a brighter single-coil sound. Controlling all this power is a five-position switch. It’s a fantastic setup guaranteed to get nearly ANY sound you need out of an electric guitar!
