Description

Leo Posch builds excellent guitars in the tradition of the great mid-century Gibsons and pre-war Martins, and this slope-shouldered Dreadnought exemplifies his dedication to the great tone embodied in those classic instruments. The Adirondack Spruce used here is an essential ingredient in achieving that tone, and the Hormigo Leo uses for back and sides imparts a flavor somewhere between Mahogany and Rosewood. The result is all the classic tone and playability of a pre-war Dread, with a slightly modern twist. The twelve-fret design places the bridge further back in the lower bout, sweetening the bass response and providing greater volume.

I love slope-shouldered Dreadnoughts, and this Posch DS model is sweet and articulate, with clear, resonant basses and strong mids. The trebles are there too, and notes have good separation, making this guitar great for either fingerstyle or a late-night bluegrass session.
