Description

Jake Robinson is an independent luthier who build his guitars to high standards. He believes, as we do, that when a single set of hands makes every part of a guitar the results are consistent and you get the best quality and tone. This Grand Auditorium from Jake Robinson is spectacular. It reminds us of the some of our other favorite luthiers such as Kathy Wingert, Kevin Ryan and Ervin Somogyi but Jake has his own voice. It's alive and energetic with sound that seems to swell as is it dances off the German Spruce top that is chock full of medullary rays. The dark chocolate Brazilian Rosewood pushes from behind with sweet midrange and clarity reminiscent of a North Carolina sky. The quality of the setup and fretwork is terrific and makes this one a real joy to play as well.

Jake Robinson and I have been talking for a while now about working together and getting to play this GA has got me pumped to represent his fine guitars. This is as good as anything we've had to offer. The voice is resonant, with sweet midrange, clear and juicy trebles and it plays with ease up the entire fingerboard. Like Jeff Traugott Jake uses only Brazilian and German Spruce, a combination well proven over the years. I also love his understated beauty, he allows the beauty to come from nature.... wood sweet wood..."

This is a superb guitar, the tone is warm and clear and the workmanship is impeccable. I particularly like the asymmetrical peghead design. It's a subtle detail that shows the artistic side of Jake Robinson.
