Description

Masaki Sakurai starting working with master Masaru Kohno in 1967 and today he carries on his Masters great work building the modern Kohno guitars. This guitar is the fifth guitar built by Masaki Sakurai making it quite a collector piece as well as an extraordinary guitar. It is powerful and clear, as are the Kohno guitars, and very easy to play. This is a full and powerful guitar that has matured nicely and has been very well kept. A rare Sakurai crafted under the tutelage of Masaru Kohno.

I'm a big fan of the modern Kohno guitars built by Masaki Sakurai. I love their clarity, powerful and brilliance. They fill a room with ease and playability is far better than most classicals. I was thrilled to get in this early example of Sakurai's work. It is very alive and beautifully crafted. The voice is articulate all the way up the fingerboard and it's been kept perfectly by it's original owner. This is a rare and special guitar as it is labeled #5 under the tutelage of Master Masaru Kohno, so it's collectible as well as playable.

A beautiful instrument to play and to hear. It is strong and clear and beautifully kept.
