Description

Here we have a Michael Spalt 486 model electric guitar with a hollowed Mahogany body topped with Indian Rosewood, and a gorgeous Quilted Maple neck. Creamy, fat tones are supplied courtesy of two custom BoneTop P-90-style pickups, hand-wound by Michael himself. A thin finish allows the natural beauty of the woods to shine, and a four-way switch provides plenty of tonal combinations.

I've been a fan of Michael Spalt's work for some time, and I was glad to find this gem at the Healdsburg Guitar Festival this past summer. I absolutely love his proprietary BoneTop P-90 pickups -- they have all the creamy goodness of the Gibsons, but just a little more growl and depth. The neck feels fantastic, and the whole guitar is light as a feather. This is a super-versatile instrument that would appeal to rockers and chicken-pickers alike.

A nice, simple electric with lots of versatility and tone choices. This one is set up to play fast and low.
