Description

From Scott Van Linge: "Having spent a few thousand nights sitting on a barstool trying to get comfortable with my D-28, I decided to design a new body shape: a dreadnought size box comfortable to hold over the right leg while sitting. And so, in 1999, I designed and built my first pinchnought--with a narrower and lower waist, upper hips about a half inch in on each side to make an inch less guitar between your torso and leg, and a full 16 inch pear shaped lower bout. The new shape balances perfectly over the right leg, orienting the neck parallel to the floor. It's effect on the sound is to give the bass a cleaner, less muddy sound than most dreadnoughts, rich mids and crisp highs." We agree, this is a very clever design that offers a big voice for flatpickers and fingerstyle players alike.

Scott Van Linge has come with a great design in his Pinchnought model. Many players want a big sound, but don't like holding a typical Dread all night long. The tighter, 'pinched', waist and rounded shape makes this one easy to hold all day. The voice, with it's parabolic bracing, is loud and clear with lots of energy as well.

This guitar has a great Bass, Clear Midrange and Sweet Trebles. It seems as if it would be a great recording guitar because of that. The neck is low profile.
