Description

This is a mandocello prototype from Weber and it comes to us from the private collection of flatpicker Steve Kaufman. Quite attractive and very playable. The F style body and dark sunburst give it the charm of yesterday but it plays with modern perfection. This is definitely a specialty piece that we don't see often, but for the right customer it'll be great fun. Check her out in the sound clips -- she's got her own sonic signature. Fun and appealing.

This is a serious Mandocello for the Folk, Celtic and Bluegrass players. It has a full voice and is easy to play with it's 24.75 scale. Mando players and guitarists alike will enjoy this instrument. It would certainly add a fresh color for chordal or single line work in the studio or on stage. The kind of sound to make a tune special.

A Mandocello is fingered like a mandolin, but has the scale length of a guitar for a big, rich sound. The perfect unusual texture for recording projects or string bands and mandolin orchestras.
