Description

Ben Wilborn of Reno, Nevada continues to impress us with his work. The first guitar that he sent our way caught our attention, but that guitar was already a few years old by the time it made it to our doorstep. This guitar, on the other hand, is the aggregate of all of Ben's experience in the time between then and now. If you liked the OMC, you will *love* this little parlor. It has all the spunk and punch of a twelve fret small bodied guitar, but with headroom that seems to defy physics! Ben incorporated both a proportionally larger soundhole and a soundport in order to increase the responsiveness of this piece and used a modified Daily Style fanbracing to keep the instrument lightweight while maximizing volume and sustain. The combination of rippling, inky Brazilian Rosewood and top-tier Sitka Spruce give this one a much sweeter voice than is typical of its size class - one of the best parlors you'll get your hands on in a long, long while.

When I picked up this new parlor guitar from Ben and gave it a first strum I found myself thinking Humphrey Bogart's famous line, "... I think this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship." This little piece doesn't just stop at the voice - it also has gorgeous lacewood and abalone appointments, as well as a tasteful matching diamond inlays on the rosette and headstock that just keep me looking for more and more details. The build quality is truly some of the best stuff out there. This thing is rocking!

This is an excellent guitar with a sweet but powerful voice. It's a real joy to play.
