1997 Tippin OMT Indian/Salmon Crate Sitka
I recall sitting with Martin Simpson as he told Bill Tippin that he makes the best OMs on the planet. We have heard ’em all and Bill’s are terrific. The combination of 30 years of experience, a great ear and great hands are what make Bill’s instruments special. This OMT features rare Salmon Crate Sitka Spruce, that was salvaged from the famous Salmon Crate that had been submerged for years. It is perfectly quartered and very silky. This is a versatile guitar that can handle many styles and is responsive to a light touch.

Allan Beardsell is one of the true innovators of guitar making and his instruments are some of our very favorites. This Beardsell 2G certainly does not look traditional and that’s because it is not. The Beardsell design employs sides stiffened with a layer of Birdseye Maple for a drum like power and projection. A radially braced back and perfectly voiced top join forces to maximize the use of energy. Don’t let the small soundhole fool you, there are two more on the side that let all of the sound out. The voice is perfect for both fingerstyle and chord work. One of most loved features is his asymmetrical neck profile. The bass side is shaved down a bit compared to the treble side, for a great feel. The Indian Rosewood and Sitka spruce are aged and played to full expression. An Armrest Bevel and a McIntyre Feather pickup make this a great choice for a gigging musician.
