A gorgeous example of Jason Kostal’s handiwork, this OM Cutaway from 2016 not only has premium tonewoods with Brazilian Rosewood back and sides and German Spruce on top, it also features Jason’s eye for color and curve, both at the rosette with his stained glass motif and with the two-tone carved head stock of Ebony and Brazilian Rosewood. The voice is classic Kostal: strong bass register, wide open response, perfect for modern fingerstyle.

2015 Fender Custom Shop 55 Stratocaster, Ash/Relic Faded Fiesta Red
We love the work of the Fender Custom Shop; they are undoubtedly producing some of the most excellent electric guitars on the market. Considering they are one of the few who wrote the book on what an electric guitar is, this 1955 relic’d reissue feels, looks, and sounds incredible. It features a full neck profile and handwound ’55-style single-coil pickups. This instrument has the quintessential Stratocaster vibes. It’s been relic’d, so you don’t have to baby the finish, and it already feels well-worn and played-in. This is a lot of electric guitar mojo for the price. Dressed in Faded Fiesta Red, this guitar would look and sound good in anyone’s guitar stable. Oh and by the way, it was signed by Stratocaster master John Cruz.

2016 MJ Franks Legend OMD, Brazilian Rosewood/Carpathian Spruce
We’ve landed another powerhouse example of the modern OM with M.J. Franks at the wheel. This good-looking example comes to us from 2016 as part of his Legend series, and stands out from other OMs with its deep bodied build. Brazilian Rosewood back and sides plus Carpathian Spruce on top, herringbone trim rendered painstakingly with Abalone, then the cherry on top: a bird and flowers alighting on the headstock, inlaid by Craig Lavin. The voice has sweet depth and range, packing more punch than you’d normally see in a medium guitar like this–and we love that. All wrapped up in a Visesnut case plus case cover!
