2024 Gaffney 00, Cocobolo/Swiss Spruce
A brand spanking new 00 from the one and only Julian Gaffney. Julian’s guitars have always been showstoppers here at the shop. His meticulous attention to detail and artistry is undeniable. The use of dyed burl as inlay material really sets Julian apart from other modern luthiers. Dramatic Cocobolo for the back and sides, and Swiss Spruce on top. This instrument has a robust sound and feel to it, with wide specs for the nut to allow for the most optimal left-hand access to all the pitches one could create with this creature. Brazilian Rosewood for the bridge and bridge pins.
Once again, this is an area in which Julian Gaffney shines. In our world, the headstock profile and bridge design are quite literally a builder’s calling cards. Here, Julian shows he is among the most unique and easily distinguished in the world of modern lutherie. It doesn’t stop with aesthetics. Most new guitars, quite frankly, sound new—they haven’t existed out in the world enough to be seasoned and they need breaking in. This beast, however, does not. Out of the case, this instrument sings. Full-bodied sound, significantly outpacing its size in volume. This guitar is a complete experience for both player and listener alike.

Brand New Laskin Klimt, Mun Ebony/Adirondack Spruce
Every guitar that comes from Grit Laskin is truly a work of art, and this is an ultimate example of that trend. Dedicated to the work of Gustav Klimt, it features “The Woman in Gold” (Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I) on the fingerboard. Grit Laskin flawlessly recreates the motif of this painting onto the fingerboard, using real gold in the inlay, true to Klimt’s style. The headplate of this Grand Auditorium guitar also features a recreation of “The Kiss.” Truly an exceptional work of art, this guitar, in classic Laskin fashion, could live in a gallery but also has a place in the studio. Laskin’s legendary arm and rib bevels outline the curves of this instrument, along with a sound port and a mosaic-style rosette, signifying a Grit Laskin masterpiece. This instrument has an Adirondack Spruce soundboard and Mun Ebony for the back and sides. The level of artistic contrast on this instrument is on full display with the back and sides, making it as socially enrapturing as it is visually.

Here we have something exceptional: a pair of 50th Anniversary Walkers, an SJ and an OM, both made of the same materials—Brazilian Rosewood and Old Growth Italian Spruce. Serial Numbers 279 and 280. Kim Walkers of any kind are like gold dust. For two brand new ones to come through the shop is exceedingly rare. These two instruments are adorned with the finest materials and appointments. Kim didn’t hold back anything here. Look and listen for yourself. Even among the best of the best, these are truly dream guitars.

Brand New Noemi OM 12-Fret Cutaway, Bubinga/Cedar
A very sonorous and sweet 12-fret OM from Noemi—we love her work. This guitar features a combination of tonewoods that isn’t so common: Bubinga and cedar. This instrument is lively and full. Being an OM, it’s perfectly comfortable, but with the voice of an instrument you would assume to be significantly larger. Listen and look for yourself. This is an incredible experience for a guitarist of any caliber and from any walk of life.

Every Calton Case is handcrafted and custom-fit to your instrument.
How are Calton Cases made? By hand and with love. While Calton CNC initial plugs and molds for testing new styles and shapes, once they’ve tested the cases—inside and out—they are made by hand. Without giving away too many secrets, here is how they do it:
- Measurements: we rely on you (and your dealer) for precise measurements of your instruments. This ensures the perfect fit.
- Exterior I: three layers of hand-laid fiberglass build the foundation for the side walls, tops and bottoms of each case.
- Exterior II: once the fiberglass shell is trimmed, up to 97 rivets are used to adhere latches, catch surrounds (leather bumpers), protective feet and a custom leather handle.
- Interior Stage I: gluing of the rubber trim and initial placement of interior fabric, foam and lining.
- Interior Stage II: cutting and assembly of the remaining foam layers and final velvet placement.
- Squeaky Clean: we call this the “detailing” stage where we meticulously polish exteriors and vacuum interiors.
- Final Inspection: every square inch of every case is looked over, making sure it is ready for the road. We add your label (with serial number) and ship!

What an absolute beast of a guitar. This 2023 Mountain Song OD-12 absolutely roars, excuse the pun however it does have Tasmanian Tiger Myrtle for the back and sides, crowned with Swiss Moonspruce on top. 2014 Bourgeois OM Custom, Brazilian Rosewood/AT Adirondack Spruce
Dana Bourgeois and his team pulled out gorgeous tonewoods for this OM Custom. Dramatically figured Brazilian Rosewood over Adirondack Spruce torrefied to perfection with Dana’s Aged Tone process. The finish is also completed to Dana’s AT specs plus hot hide glue construction throughout, making this 2014 OM Custom a lively and opened up powerhouse right out of the gate. Koa bindings and Waverly tuners complete the package. This Bourgeois has a balanced voice from treble to bass, with an added clarity and presence to the plain strings that really cuts through a mix. The setup is easy peasy and effortless, and the saddle string spacing is a comfortable 2 5/16” for a touch extra room for right hand fingerpicking.

The Bourgeois team decided to go all in for this 2008 Winter NAMM special Country Boy Deluxe with Tree Mahogany back and sdies, Adirondack Spruce top, and an explosively powerful voice. Excellent note separation and clarity, with a top end that’s crisp to cut through the mix, and an energetic midrange and bottom end to fill it out. Premium condition, ready for more action, number eight of only eight.

The MB is a curvaceous, effortless, gorgeous approach to modern electric guitarbuilding, from the über curved sides to the carved Maple back and Spruce top, minimalist F holes, and Duneland Labs humbucker. Gold EVO frets ensure the setup will be smooth and clear for a long time to come; weighing under six pounds, you hardly tell it’s there. The back and sdies are carved from solid master grade Bigleaf Maple, and blends perfectly with the solid Spruce top and Maple neck thanks to a light amber honeyed finish. The pickup features a custom hammered cover that adds excitement to the svelte aesthetics, here mated with an Ebony pickguard/finger rest with included volume and tone knobs underneath.

2021 Preston Thompson OM-BA, Brazilian Rosewood/Adirondack Spruce
The team at Preston Thompson Guitars continues to thread the needle between traditional and contemporary with their flattops. On one hand, this 2019 OM-BA is a classic American OM: tobacco sunburst, squared off headstock with Waverly tuners, Brazilian Rosewood body and Adirondack Spruce top. On the other, it’s inherently modern: effortless playability, Rosewood bindings, and a Taj Mahal-themed headstock inlay from PKT’s in-house inlay maestro Simon Haycraft. Nestled between the gold Waverly tuner posts, a perfectly executed lotus flower in lieu of the traditional thistle. The voice mixes up fantastically across the registers, with enough headroom to handle a flatpick quite well; there’s an extra dose of sweet warmth in the midrange that really comes out in that scenario. All wrapped up in a snug-fitting Hoffee flight case, this 2019 Preston Thompson OM-BA is safe, secure, and begging to be played.

Brand New De Wit Modified Dreadnought, Narra/Bearclaw German Spruce
Our first guitar from Gjis De Wit packs a punch. His Modified Dreadnought body, here rendered with florentine cutaway and angled bindings, plays great and has a voice equal parts power and articulation. It’s an excellent choice for fingerstyle play, or strumming when you need chords to remain crisp and clear. The multiscale setup is 26-25” with a unique fanning that makes the first position feel like a standard fretboard. Back and sides are gorgeously figured Narra, paired with Bearclaw German Spruce on top. The neck is actually Padauk, but Gjis has veneered its length in Ebony—ditto for the Spanish Cedar bridge—which creates a great contrast to the Narra/Spruce color scheme. De Wit painstakingly inlaid the headstock, heel, and bindings with a geometric motif, and installed premium Alessi tuners for added class. Additionally, the veneered bridge features individual phosphor bronze saddles for each string. Joe outfitted this beauty with EVO frets, Katalox back and sides, plus Sitka Spruce on top, and Curly Maple bindings throughout.

We’re excited for the chance to offer you a dynamite custom archtop from the venerable Brian Kingston of Prince Edward Island, Canada. AAA European Curly Maple back and sides paired with a hand carved Haida Gwaii Sitka Spruce top (bearing gorgeous and rare flamed figuring), bound F holes, and an exquisite sunburst in ambers, yellows, and browns across both neck and body. A generous 17 inches across the lower bout with a play weight of six pounds, this Kingston feels solid in hand, with a glossy neck profile and upper bout soundport to boot. A custom Seymour Duncan pickup with volume and tone knobs under the pickguard carries this beauty faithfully into amplified territory, but it’s equally at home as an acoustic archtop with a crisp treble definition and articulate midrange. Brian built this one in 2018 for the shows, and we’re proud to offer it now as a new instrument with a little age to liven up the voice.
