This 2010 Parlor from Bil Mitchell, dressed in Koa and Adirondack, is a great example of why not to judge a guitar by its size. Brand New Spohn OM-C 12-Fret, Swiss Cherry/Swiss Moon Spruce
Where to begin? This instrument is vibrant, in every sense of the word. The choice of woods, the color of those woods, the pink appointments, and the clarity and immediate response from this are unparalleled. Not many folks do deconstructed rosettes, and absolutely no one does them like Max Spohn. It comes with Evo frets, Scheller tuners, the whole shebang. This creature also sports a Manzer-style wedge, laminated sides, and a gorgeously executed fingerboard extension. We love every detail about this guitar. 2021 Martin D-35 David Gilmour, Sinker Mahogany/Adirondack Spruce
Few names are so well recognized in popular music as David Gilmour of Pink Floyd fame. In 2021, Martin collaborated with Mr. Gilmour for an exclusive Signature Edition run of 250 guitars. These were soon all snatched up, but we’ve managed to land one, no. 27, here in the shop.
The David Gilmour signature models are the first D-35s ever made with neck, back and sides of Sinker Mahogany, chosen by David for its warm, rich tones and exquisitely beautiful grain. VTS Adirondack Spruce on top to be broken in and wide awake right out of the gate. A bespoke neck shape & fingerboard pattern were crafted to David’s specification for this guitar, while a special headstamp is featured on the reverse of the headstock. Every label was hand-signed by David; look into the soundhole and you’ll find his very hand just below “#27.” Additionally, we have included a customized Elliott capo engraved with the words, “Gilmour D-35,” to make this most exclusive Martin just a little bit more rare.

2014 Lowden Richard Thompson Signature Model Figured Ziricote/AAAA Red Cedar
Says Red Molly to James, ‘Well, that’s a fine motor…guitar.’ This is a guitar, not a motorcycle, but a mighty fine one indeed. You know, for it to bear the name Richard Thompson, it’s bound to be quite a delightful instrument. From Lowden, we have a 2014 Richard Thompson Signature, also an F model. This Irish beast is decked out in AAAA-Red Cedar and Figured Ziricote. What a sonorous combination this is. All of the George Lowden features you know and love are here, very well-loved and cared for, and ready for years and years of more music-making.

2013 Uchida, African Blackwood/Cedar
A truly bespoke experience. This 2013 flattop from Japan’s Mitsuhiro Uchida is a one-off, original design exectued with African Blackwood body and Cedar top, Spanish heel construction that couples with a twisting, bending upper bout shoulders/cutaway design. Uchida builds one instrument, and never repeats himself, opting to listen to each client’s needs and desires and responding with the perfect instrument. This is the first time we’ve seen one of Uchida’s instruments, after almost 25 years in the business. That in itself is incredible to consider. But then, the actual experience of playing this instrument is the real magic. Truly unique.

This 2020 Tippin Forte made of Cuban Mahogany and Salmon Sitka Spruce is proof positive that sometimes all you need are fundamental ingredients in the right hands to make an absolute masterpiece — everyone in the shop loves this guitar, and I would wager we all wish we could keep it forever!

This 2013 Bourgeois Vintage Dread #8 of 15 from Dana and company is delightful; for a guitar that is only eleven years old at time of publication it sounds nearly four times as old. It has the playwear to show it! Brazilian Rosewood and Adirondack Spruce two of the most classic ingredients for a powerhouse guitar, particularly a flatpicking machine such as this. This guitar is equipped with an L.R. Baggs Lyric pickup, ready for the stage or the studio!

Brand New TreeHouse Parlor, Honduran Rosewood/Redwood
Here we have a 2023 TreeHouse Guitars Parlor guitar. On top, some exceptionally aesthetically pleasing Redwood, tightly grained with some very nice chatoyance. Honduran Rosewood makes up the back and sides. This is a unique pairing of tonewoods, but man, oh man, do they work! This guitar has a lot of creature comforts: a soundport, beveled edges, a soundhole, and fingerboard extension. Evo frets and some beautifully blue appointments. But listen and look for yourself!

2008 Benedetto Sinfonietta, Maple/ Spruce
This guitar is a masterpiece. ‘Sinfonietta‘ is an Italian word meaning ‘little symphony’ — this is probably the most accurate name for a guitar of all time. From Benedetto, this archtop from 2008 is superlative to all that is an acoustic archtop: depth, warmth, resonance, power, and meticulous fit and finish. Really, this instrument will do whatever you could ask of it. For the player and collector alike, this instrument will do one thing exceptionally well: enhance your musical life. Gorgeous Maple and tightly grained Spruce, which has loads of medullary rays. The demo speaks for itself. What a true joy to have this in the shop!

Brand New Pogreba Resonator, Blue Oldsmobile
Is it an Oldsmobile? A piece of art? Or a resophonic guitar? Well, it’s all of those things and more! The latest from the workshop of Larry Pogreba, and it’s, well, very blue. It is also just as fun musically as it is visually interesting. There really isn’t anything one can compare the sound of this to; from acoustically to plugged in, this instrument is quite a joy ride—pun fully intended. Equipped with a single-coil pickup, this guitar is ready for any application.

2007 Tippin Crescendo Dream Series, African Blackwood/Cedar
This is the Dream Series that started it all! In 2007 Bill and Paul collaborated on spec’ing out #1 with African Blackwood back and sides and Cedar on top, the result of which is a voice equal parts chocolate rich and crystalline clarity. Such a powerhouse combination, and in Bill’s Crescendo body to make the playing experience oh so comfortable to boot. Opal inlays at the first fret and at the tail, plus Snakewood appointments and a Brazilian Rosewood bridge, combine with Bill’s sense of curve for a gorgeous viewing experience (on those rare moments you won’t be playing this one). Setup is excellent for fingerstyle play, and it loves tuning down to D and even C territory. There’s even a K&K Pure Mini pickup to carry you onto the stage! And a Calton case for safe keeping.
